The Yankees recently unveiled the Judge's Chambers in right-center field, where fans wait in judge's apparel for potential blasts from rookie phenom Aaron Judge, who has already peppered Yankee Stadium with monster homers.
The first homer to reach that section, though, wasn't from Judge. Instead, it was another Aaron -- Aaron Hicks.
Hicks has enjoyed a terrific start to the 2017 campaign as well, and he added to it during Friday night's 8-2 win over the Orioles. He went deep twice to bring his season total to 10 homers, just one shy of his career-high already.
The first of those blasts hit the Judge's Chambers, providing the section with a thrill.
When MLB.com's Danny Knobler told Hicks that he was the first to hit the section, he smiled and replied "Cool. I'm happy." He then said of his first-half success, "I got a lot of at-bats early [in the season], and I was able to keep my swing feeling good."
It certainly takes a good swing to reach that section, and it was a pleasant surprise for the Yankees that Hicks could hit one that far.
