A.J. Pollock referenced 'D2: The Mighty Ducks' to prove his rehab is on track
D-backs outfielder AJ Pollock will begin his Triple-A rehab with the Reno Aces on Friday night -- marking the first time he's seen any professional game action since suffering an avulsion fracture in his left thumb on May 14. And he's very excited to be back on the field. So excited in fact, he made a Disney movie reference ahead of his return.
Pollock took to his Instagram to mirror a scene from "D2: The Mighty Ducks" in which Adam Banks was returning from an injury he endured on his wrist during a matchup against team Iceland. In the film, Banks shows Coach Bombay he has mobility back in his hand, so Pollock did the same thing:
We know Pollock is more than ready to get back into a D-backs uniform, but it's nice to see him having some fun with the process.
We will see you soon, A.J.
