June 1: 1B dealing with left ring finger sprain
Vaughn suffered his injury sliding into third during advancement on a wild pitch against the Blue Jays on May 29 and has not played in either game against the Brewers. Manager Pedro Grifol said Vaughn was supposed to be sidelined for three to five days, with the contest on June 1 being day three.

"Obviously, he's not available to start today," Grifol said. "Probably will give him tomorrow and we'll have the off-day and reevaluate him then." (Last updated: June 1)

May 31: Recalled IF from Triple-A Charlotte
Sosa, 24, replaced Bryan Ramos on the active roster, and manager Pedro Grifol stated on May 31 in Milwaukee that he would try to get Sosa into the mix fairly frequently. Sosa is slashing .284/.355/.627 with five doubles, six home runs, 14 RBIs, eight walks and 13 runs scored with Charlotte this season. He's also appeared in 12 games with the White Sox in 2024, going 5-for-38 with two doubles and a RBI.

"I'm going to mix him in quite a bit and give him a really good opportunity," said Grifol. "He'll play second, he'll play third. He might DH once in a while. I'll mix him in pretty good."

May 30: White Sox optioned 3B to Triple-A Charlotte
The No. 5 White Sox prospect energized the team when he first joined the White Sox in St. Louis, but he has struggled of late. Ramos is 0-for-14 since returning form the injured list on May 25 and is mired in a 2-for-28 slump with no RBIs, no extra-base hits and no walks in his last nine games.

"At the beginning of this thing we talked about kind of slowing it down a little bit on him because he’s a young kid," said White Sox manager Pedro Grifol after Wednesday's loss. "He’s coming up here. Nobody knows anything about him. Then once you start creating somewhat of a sample size, they are going to start to make adjustments on you.

"He was hitting the ball really good up the middle, the other way. Putting some good swings. He was doing a really good job of using the whole field. They started pounding him in a little bit. It’s the natural reaction for a young kid to start covering inside and then that kind of opened up the outer half. They were starting to make adjustments to him."

10-DAY/15-DAY INJURED LIST

OF (right hip flexor strain)
Expected return: Early June
Robert was scheduled to start in center field for Triple-A Charlotte on May 31 and June 1 and then move to designated hitter on June 2. The team will reevaluate Robert's situation at that point, but he could rejoin the White Sox on June 4 at Wrigley Field.

"Anywhere he goes, he's not going to just play every day," said White Sox manager Pedro Grifol of Robert, who had a scheduled off-day on May 30. "He's going to have to take a break and give his body a break in between two, three, four starts or something like that.

"So we'll see. Right now, he's not day to day, but he's weekend to day." (Last updated: May 31)

RHP (right elbow inflammation)
Expected return:
Mid-June
Clevinger is 0-3 with a 6.75 ERA and 15 strikeouts in 16 innings over four starts with Chicago after signing as a free agent on April 4. He had a cortisone shot on May 28 and will be shut down for two days, but only expects to miss a couple of starts.

"It is very frustrating," Clevinger said. "But, I mean, knowing I’ll be throwing again in two days and hopefully it’s maybe only two turns in the rotation. Just trying to stay optimistic." (Last updated: May 28)

RHP (right elbow inflammation)
Expected return:
Early June
While Leone has a little inflammation in his right elbow, this absence is not expected to be an extended one for the reliever.

"Everything came back clean and clear," White Sox manager Pedro Grifol said. "He should be ready to go as soon as his IL date comes back. It's not something he's worried about." (Last updated: May 24)

DH (left hamstring strain)
Expected return:
4-6 weeks
The White Sox were waiting to return to Chicago before determining how long Jiménez is expected to be sidelined, though manager Pedro Grifol said it would be an "extended period" on May 23. The 27-year-old Jiménez landed on the IL for the second time this season, as he injured his hamstring running from second to home on a single from Corey Julks in the win over the Blue Jays on May 21. RHP (back strain)
Expected return:
Early or mid June
Wilson experienced back spasms and wasn't available for the first two games against the Blue Jays on May 20-21. He was placed on the IL on May 22, retroactive to May 20. The 29-year-old Wilson owns a 2.84 ERA with 19 strikeouts in 19 innings this season. (Last updated: May 22)

60-DAY INJURED LIST

LHP (left shoulder surgery)
Expected return: TBD
After three outings with the Rookie-level ACL White Sox, Drohan will continue his rehab assignment with High-A Winston Salem, the White Sox announced on May 21. The Rule 5 selection, who was taken in the Major League phase of the Draft, had what manager Pedro Grifol described as a nerve decompression. The plan was to have the southpaw start a throwing program right after the end of Spring Training. He was placed on the 60-day IL prior to Opening Day on March 28.

In three outings between May 10-17, Drohan allowed three earned runs with nine strikeouts and two walks over 3 2/3 innings. (Last updated: May 21)

3B (left adductor strain)
Expected return: Shortly after the All-Star break
While running to first on a ground ball in the top of the second inning on April 9, Moncada doubled over in pain and had to be helped off the field. A day later, he was placed on the injured list with a left adductor strain.

The estimated original recovery time for Moncada was three to six months, the team announced on April 10, but general manager Chris Getz gave a more optimistic return update on April 12. Moncada has hit .282 with three doubles and a triple in 11 games.

"He starts hitting left-handed today," said White Sox manager Pedro Grifol of Moncada on May 13. "He spent the whole week hitting right-handed. I’ve seen videos of him catching some ground balls and doing some drills. He’s coming along. He’s a little further behind [Luis] Robert [Jr.], but he’s also coming along good.” (Last updated: May 13)

C (left hip inflammation)
Expected return: TBD
Stassi, who was transferred to the 60-day IL on April 15, suffered a setback during his rehab assignment with Triple-A Charlotte when he was hit in the hand on a hitter's backswing. So, Stassi will need to recover from that, along with his left hip inflammation.

"It's not significant in regards to a fracture, but it slowed it down a little bit," general manager Chris Getz said. "We want to get him to the point where he can catch back-to-back games and his body's recovering before we bring him back.” (Last update: April 15)

RHP (right rotator cuff strain)
Expected return: TBD
Lambert visited Dr. Neal ElAttrache during Spring Training for a second opinion on his shoulder and was able to avoid surgery. He said something was there, but they had a program in place to try to treat it. He was placed on the 60-day IL on March 28. (Last updated: March 28)

RHP (Tommy John surgery)
Expected return: Early to mid-2025
Scholtens was scheduled to undergo surgery to repair a torn ulnar cruciate ligament in his right elbow on March 1 and is expected to miss the season.

He was placed on the 60-day IL on Feb. 27 to make room for Bailey Horn, acquired from the Cubs. Scholtens was 1-9 with a 5.29 ERA in 26 appearances (11 starts) last season. (Last updated: Feb. 27)

RHP (Tommy John surgery)
Expected return:
Mid-to-late 2024
Foster missed the entire 2023 season due to Tommy John surgery after he had the procedure on April 19. He was placed on the 60-day IL on Feb. 23. (Last updated: Feb. 23)
