Zobac resides in San Jose, Calif...has a twin sister, Kacey, who played softball at the University of California at the same time that Steven played on the baseball team...Went 4-4 with a 4.09 ERA (28 ER in 61.2 IP) and 72 strikeouts (10.5 K/9) in 20 appearances (10 starts) during his junior season at Cal in 2022...Attended the University of California from 2020-22, where he was a two-way player and combined for 19 pitching appearances while also playing regularly on offense as an outfielder from 2020-21...Played for the 2021 National Baseball Congress World Series Champion Santa Barbara Foresters, who won the title game in Wichita, Kan...Graduated from Valley Christian High School (Calif.) in 2019, where he earned CCS Player of the Year and WCAL Player of the Year, Rawlings All-American honors and was a part of three CCS championship teams.

2025

Began the 2025 season with Double-A Northwest Arkansas, but allowed nine runs (8 ER) in 7.2 innings over two starts before being placed on the Injured List...Made three rehab starts with the ACL Royals from May 24-June 7, before returning to Northwest Arkansas on June 13...Made nine starts from June 13-Aug. 7, after which he was placed on the Injured List and did not pitch again...He recorded 37 strikeouts (9.2 K/9) and issued only 14 walks (3.5 BB/9) in 36.1 innings with the Naturals.  

2024

Was crowned the Paul Splittorff Pitcher of the Year in 2024 after he split the season between High-A Quad Cities, where he made 14 appearances (13 starts), and Double-A Northwest Arkansas, where he pitched in 11 games (10 starts)...Between the two levels, he went 11-8, registering the third-most wins by a Royals farmhand, with a 3.64 ERA (51 ER in 126.0 IP) and 123 strikeouts (8.8 K/9, 23.8 K%), along with just 29 walks (2.1 BB/9, 5.6 BB%)...His 3.64 ERA finished as the fifth-lowest ERA among Royals Minor Leaguers, and his 123 strikeouts were tied for second with Tyson Guerrero, only fewer than Noah Cameron (149)...Began his season with High-A Quad Cities and logged a 3.60 ERA (eight ER in 20.0 IP) in four April starts...Struggled through May, going 1-3 with a 5.63 ERA (15 ER in 24.0 IP), which included back-to-back starts in which he allowed six earned runs from May 23-30...He was named the Midwest League Pitcher of the Month in June after he posted a 3-0 record with a 1.17 ERA (three ER in 23.0 IP) across four starts, all of which were victories...Made one final start for the River Bandits on July 5 before earning his promotion to Double-A Northwest Arkansas, where he went 6-0 with a 1.87 ERA (seven ER in 33.2 IP) and 41 strikeouts in August, earning himself the Naturals Pitcher of the Month Award...Finished his campaign with two starts in September, logging 10.0 innings and allowing six earned runs.
