Alec is two years older than Brett and was a pitcher in the Guardians organization until being released in 2022...During the 2022-23 offseason, Wisely worked at lululemon in Jacksonville as a side job. Former MLB’er and Jacksonville native Daniel Murphy and his wife entered the store one day. Wisely attended a few of Murphy’s camps as a child. He re-introduced himself and the two exchanged numbers. Wisely ended up working out a few times with Murphy, who offered advice on his swing as both are lefthanded hitting infielders.

Started the year at Double-A Montgomery and hit .274 with 15 homers and 56 RBI in 112 games...His six triples were tied for second-most in the Southern League, while his 31 steals ranked eighth...Was promoted to Triple-A Durham on Sept. 15 and appeared in five games for the Bulls...Was named Southern League Post-Season All-Star for his efforts with Montgomery.
