Full name is Vaughn Anthony Grissom...Attended Paul J. Hagerty High School (Fla.)...Grew up with DET outfielder Riley Greene, whom he was high school teammates with...They have known each other since they were 12 years old, playing against each other in Little League.

2025

Spent the season with Triple-A Worcester in the Red Sox organization...Played in 96 games and posted a .783 OPS with 37 extra-base hits across 370 at-bats... Homered in three consecutive games from July 25-27... Placed on the Minor League injured list with plantar fasciitis on Sept. 9, and missed the rest of the season.

2024

Played 31 games (29 starts) over two stints with BOS, hitting .190...Made 28 starts at 2B and one as the DH...Missed 87 games over two IL stints, from the start of the season through 5/2 (left hamstring strain) and from 6/2-8/7 (right hamstring strain)...Also played in 55 games for Triple-A Worcester, batting .259 with a .758 OPS (50-for-193, 4 2B, 6 HR)...Made 53 starts (44 at 2B, nine as the DH)...In 23 September games between BOS and Worcester, hit .338 with a .974 OPS (24-for-71, 3 2B, 3 HR, 18 BB)...For Worcester, batted .321 with runners on (34-for-106), .313 with RISP (21-for-67), .308 with RISP and two outs (8-for-26) and .444 with the bases loaded (4-for-9).

2023

Played in 23 games over two stints with ATL (4/14-5/6 and 8/15-28), making 18 starts at SS and two at 2B...Selected to the Braves’ NLDS roster...Appeared in one game, pinch-hitting in the ninth inning of Game 4 at PHI (0-for-1, 1 SO)...With RISP for ATL, went 8-for-17 (.471) with nine RBI...Hit .091 with 0 outs (2-for-22), compared to .358 with either one or two outs (19-for-53). Also appeared in 102 games with Triple-A Gwinnett and ranked 8th in the Minors in AVG (min. 400 PA), batting .330 (131-for-397) with a .920 OPS...Started 70 games at SS, 31 at 2B, and one as the DH. Led the Stripers in AVG, OBP (.419), SLG (.501), OPS, hits, total bases (199), and doubles (36). For Gwinnett, recorded a 45-game on-base streak (6/28-9/19) and a 14-game hitting streak (8/4-9/14). In the Minors, had at least a .300 AVG and .900 OPS against both LHP (.319/.904) and RHP (.336/.930)...Also hit above .300 at home (.305) and on the road (.350), in day games (.340) and in night games (.327), and with the bases empty (.340) and with runners on (.319). Hit .278 in May, but hit above .300 in April (.368), June (.317), July (.333), August (.377) and September (.359).  

2022

22-year-old Vaughn Grissom played in his first Major League season in 2022...He hit .291 (41- for-141) with five home runs, 18 RBI and 24 runs scored...Reached base in 13 of his first 14 career games, the first Brave to do so since Tommy La Stella in 2014...Also hit .420 (21-for-50) in his first 14 major league games…The last Atlanta rookie to match that mark through 14 career games (min. 30 PA) was George Jackson, who hit .456 (26-for-57) through 14 games in his 1911 rookie campaign...Grissom’s eight multi-hit efforts in his first 14 career games were tied for the most through 14 games in modern-era Braves history...First to do it since George Jackson in 1911...Scored a run in each of his first six career games...On Aug. 14, became the first player in modern-era franchise history to score a run in each of his first four career games...Hit a two-run home run over the Green Monster at Fenway Park in his MLB debut...Drove in Minor League teammate Michael Harris II, who was on first base.

2021

Split the 2021 season between High-A Rome and Low-A Augusta, combining to post a .319 batting average (101-for-317) with 17 doubles, four triples, seven home runs and 43 RBI...Appeared at all three outfield positions as well as designated hitter...Enters 2022 as Atlanta's No. 7 prospect, according to MLB.com.
