Will Brennan #12

Graduated from Blue Valley High School in Stilwell, Kan., and was the 2016 6A Kansas Co-Player of the Year. He was also a first-team All-State outfielder for 2015-16. Current St. Louis Cardinals RHP Ryne Stanek is also an alum of Blue Valley HS...Played on the Cape in 2018 with Falmouth. Is one of six players from that roster to have made it to the Major Leagues...Spent three seasons on campus in Manhattan for the Wildcats. He batted .332 in 162 career games at K-State...Was an All-Big 12 selection as a sophomore after hitting .359 with an .882 OPS in 54 games. He also received Freshman All-American honors from College Baseball and the NCBWA while being named second team All-Big 12 and named to the All-Big 12 Freshman team in 2017...Also pitched during his time on campus, appearing in 28 games (13 starts) over his three seasons.

2025

Appeared in only six games for Cleveland and 35 games for Triple-A Columbus as he missed a majority of the season due to injury...Underwent left elbow surgery performed last June and missed the remainder of the year...Opened the season at Triple-A Columbus and batted .304 (45-for-148) with 19 runs, eight doubles, three homers, 18 RBI and a .759 OPS in 35 games...Recalled to Cleveland on May 12 and appeared in six games with the Guardians before initially landing on the 10-day injured list with left forearm inflammation on May 20...Was transferred to the 60-day IL on June 27 and activated on Nov. 6...Was non-tendered by the Guardians in November. 

2024

Spent most of 2024 season on the Major League roster save a 10-day stint in AAA, July 30-Aug. 8...Was also on the 10-day IL from June 25-July 10 with rib cage inflammation… Following his Aug. 9 recall, Will hit .330 (34-for-103) with seven extra-base hits over his final 37 games, including a .462 (12-for-26) mark over his final 10 games after Sept. 15...Enjoyed his first career two-homer game and a career-high 3XBH/10TB on June 20th vs. Seattle...Hit only regular season walk-off HR of the season for Cleveland, the first of his career, on May 19 vs. Minnesota off Jhoan Duran...Only 35 of his 353 plate appearances came vs. LHP (5-35, 2B, 3B)…Fanned just 48 times in 353 plate appearances, which ranked in the 94th-% in MLB/ 13.6K%)...Positional/Fielding: 65GS/80G RF, 9GS/18G LF, 5GS/8G CF, 10GS DH (-6DRS).  

2023

Spent first full season in the Majors, making starts at all three OF positions...Batted .183 (13-for-71) over his first 28 games thru May 7 before hitting .280 (102-for-364) the rest of the way...After Aug. 21 he batted .320 (31-for-97) with 11 RS over his last 30 games...Hit .303 in Sept/Oct. (23-for-76, 4 2B, 6 RBI, 24 games)...Fanned just 17 times over his last 172 plate appearances and was in the 95th-percentile in K% (12.6%) of PA...His expected average of .281 was in the 88th percentile in MLB...Made 89 starts in RF, 11 starts in CF and seven in LF (3 DH)...Four Def. Runs Saved in RF...Had two game-tying hits after the eighth inning, April 9 vs. Seattle, first time since at least 1961 a Cleveland batter has done so...Hit .336 (50-for-149) vs. AL Central...2023 AL Rookie Ranks: 2B (T4th, 24), hits (fifth, 113).

2022

Split year between AA Akron and AAA Columbus before being promoted on Sept. 21, making his Major League debut in Chicago(AL)… Slashed .314/.371/.479 (166-for-528) with 40 2B, four 3B, 13 HR, 107 RBI, 50 BB and 20 SB over 129 games between AA Akron and AAA Columbus in 2022…At the time of 9/21 promotion was leading all of Minor League Baseball in hits (166) while ranking tied for second in doubles (40) and fifth in RBI (107)…Was not listed among the club's top-30 prospects entering the 2022 season...After being promoted to AAA Columbus on May 26 (until 9/21), he ranked among the Int’l League leaders in hits (first, 123), doubles (first, 28), total bases (first, 28), RBI (second, 68) and batting average (third, .317), leading the system in average, RBI, hits, total bases (253) and doubles for the campaign... Made double-digit starts across all three outfield positions between Akron and Columbus and started games at all three OF positions for Cleveland…With Cleveland he hit in 10 of 11 games, notching first hit on 9/21 at CWS and hit first HR on 10/2 vs. his hometown KC Royals…After concluding his Triple-A stint with a 13-game hit streak he hit in 23 of his last 24 overall games…Was on both Postseason rosters, appearing in five overall games.

2021

Appeared in 102 games between High-A Lake County and Double-A Akron after not playing in 2020 due to the canceled season. He batted .286 and posted a .779 OPS in those games.
