Was limited to DH and pinch-hit duties after October 2024 right elbow surgery/rehab kept him from playing the field in 2025...Began the year on the 60-day IL rehabbing the elbow in Arizona, beginning a rehab assignment on May 12... Rehab moved to AA Akron a week later followed by a AAA-Columbus rehab stint on May 26...Was activated from the 60-day IL on May 31 when Lane Thomas (foot) was forced onto the IL, leaving a void of right-handed hitters on the club...Overall made 37 starts at DH and was 3-for-26 (.115) as a PH...Best month was September, batting .231 (6-for-26) with 2HR, 5 RBI in 12 games...10 of his 12 XBH came off LHP (20 of 23 RBI) as the club was 11-5 when he drives in a run...Season ended on Sept. 23 after being struck in the face squaring to bunt off Detroit's Tarik Skubal, suffering a nasal and facial fractures that required a follow-up nasal septoplasty on Oct. 7 to address the nasal fracture.

Was a force in the first half, playing all around the diamond on his way to his first All-Star nod...Second half was limited by right elbow injury that eventually required surgery but not before providing some epic moments during Cleveland's 10-game Postseason run...From the start of the season thru May 31 he batting .352 (37-for-105) with a .485 OBP and 1.114 OPS and was leading MLB in both ratios among hitters with at least 125PA to that point...
