2025

Ethan pitched to a 1-0 record with a 6.00 ERA (6 ER/9.0 IP) and six strikeouts in 10 relief outings with the Cubs in 2025...Went 2-4 with a 2.16 ERA (10 ER/41.2 IP) and 54 strikeouts across 36 appearances (one start) with Iowa this year...His 11.66 strikeouts per 9.0 innings with the I-Cubs pitched ranked 11th among International League pitchers (min. 35 games)...Held the opponent scoreless in seven of 10 major league outings this season, including starting the season with five straight scoreless appearances April 9-16 (5.0 IP)...Earned his lone win of the season April 13 at the Dodgers (0.2 IP)...April 26 pitched 2.0 innings in relief, tying his career-high longest relief outing.

2024

Ethan opened the 2024 season on the Triple-A injured list, continuing his rehab from Tommy John surgery...Went 1-1 with one hold, a 3.71 ERA (11 ER/26.2 IP), 26 strikeouts, compared to 10 walks, and a 1.54 WHIP in 21 games with the Cubs this year...Was recalled June 28 and made his season debut June 30…had three stints with the Cubs this year...In 16 games with Rookie League Mesa, Double-A Tennessee and Triple-A Iowa, including his rehab outings, he went 0-0 with a 1.50 ERA (3 ER/18.0 IP), 21 strikeouts and a 1.00 WHIP...Allowed just one run in 11.0 IP (0.83 ERA) across seven outings June 30-Aug. 22...Tied his career-high in strikeouts (3) July 13 and Sept. 3...Earned his first career win Sept. 19 against Washington.

2023

Ethan missed the entire 2023 season while recovering from Tommy John surgery.

2022

Ethan made his Major League debut on April 9, 2022...he pitched one scoreless inning in relief, allowing a walk and a hit-by-pitch... He went 0-1 with an 8.22 ERA (7 ER/7.2 IP) and nine strikeouts in nine games during his first Major League season... Had his season cut short after he was placed on the injured list on May 2 with right shoulder inflammation...he pitched 0.1 innings in a rehab assignment with Triple-A Iowa on June 19 before being pulled from the game due to injury...underwent Tommy John surgery on July 13.

2021

In 2021, Ethan reached Double-A and Triple-A for the first time in his career... Was 4-2 with four saves and a 3.00 ERA (18 ER/54.0 IP) in 39 relief appearances between Tennessee and Iowa... He walked 17 batters compared to 72 strikeouts, good for an average of 12.0 strikeouts per 9.0 innings ... limited opponents to a .179 batting average (35-for-196), a .258 on-base percentage and a .528 OPS... Tossed 15.2-consecutive scoreless innings between Tennessee and Iowa, June 11-July 21, with five walks, 22 strikeouts and a .096 batting average against in 12 relief appearances.
