2020

Earned the win in Spring Training start on 2/27 vs. CHC (1.2 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 2 SO), his lone spring appearance prior to the pandemic-induced shutdown...logged 3.1 IP over two outings during July Summer Camp scrimmages in Arlington before the resumption of the regular season…was added to the club’s 60- man player pool on 7/19 and assigned to the Alternate Training Site, where he participated in workouts and scrimmages at Globe Life Park and Globe Life Field until the end of the regular season (9/27).

2019

Split the season between Down East (A+) and Frisco, his first career action at Double-A…made 24 appearances/22 starts, including a pair of outings following an opener, and finished 2.0 IP shy of matching his career high in innings (133.0 IP in 2018)…walked 1.79 batters per 9 innings, 3rd-lowest rate among qualified Texas farmhands…named Texas Rangers Starter of the Month for April after going 2-1, 1.14 (4 ER/31.2 IP) in 5 G/GS for Down East, and earned a promotion to Frisco on 5/11…also named Carolina League Pitcher of the Week for 4/15-21…opponents slashed .249/.293/.418/.711 overall…went 6-3, 2.95 (19 ER/58.0 IP) over final 10 G/8 GS for Frisco after a 1-6, 7.64 (30 ER/35.1 IP) start spanning 8 G/GS…on 8/1, added a slider to pitch mix that already included a fastball, curveball and changeup and saw immediate improvement, posting a 2.83 ERA (11 ER/35.0 IP) and .223 (29-130) opponent batting average in six outings featuring the new offering...tabbed as Texas' 18th-best prospect entering the season (Baseball America).
