Enjoyed playing career spanning 16 seasons (1990-2005) with Seattle (1990-95), New York-AL (1996-2001, 2005), St. Louis (2002-03) and Tampa Bay (2004). Owns career average of .271 with 339 home runs and 1,271 RBI...Appeared in postseason nine times, while being a part of four World Series Champion clubs (1996, '98-2000). In 99 career postseason games, posted .230 average with 15 doubles, nine home runs and 38 RBI...Two-time All-Star, earning trips to Midsummer Classic in 1995 and 1997. and drove in five runs, the 16th time in his career he's tallied five or more RBI in a game...on 5/23, his 10th
inning single gave the Rays a 5-4,"walk-off" win in 10 innings giving the Rays their first-ever three-game
sweep of the Indians.
2003
Completed his second season with the Redbirds by playing in 138 games and batting .273 with 15 home runs and 69 RBI. Tino lifted his batting average 11 points from the 2002 (.262) season.
Committed just three errors on the year and led all N.L. first basemen with a .997 fielding percentage. His fielding mark tied Keith Hernandez (1981) for the best single-season tally by a Cardinals first baseman.
Had 34 multi-hit games and 16 multi-RBI contests. Tino provided the game-winning RBI five times and his 24 two-out RBI ranked fifth on the club.
He made 22 starts batting 4th in the batting order, hitting .321 (27-for-84) with 1 HR and 13 RBI.
Batted .285 (93-for-326) with 66 RBI after 5/25, raising his season batting average from .245 to .273.
Hit .333 with five homers and 22 RBI in the month of June. He followed that with a .306 average in July.
Smacked a two-run home run, singled and walked in the Cards' season-opening win vs. MIL.
His RBI double was the game-winning RBI in 4/13 win at HOU.
