Meet your favorite Oakland A's players, local celebrities and various Bay Area radio and television personalities as they serve MUG Root Beer Floats in the Eastside Club from 10:35 a.m. - 12:35 p.m. Root Beer floats are $2 each and additional money for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation will be raised through tips given in exchange for autographs and photos with the celebrity scoopers. In addition, 32oz. mugs with unlimited float refills will be sold for $15 and a limited supply of 32oz. mugs autographed by Dallas Braden will be sold for $25. Among the players expected to participate in RBFD are Brett Anderson, Andrew Bailey, Dallas Braden, Rajai Davis, Nomar Garciaparra and Brad Ziegler (players subject to change). Also scheduled to appear: Former A's Great Vida Blue, Miss California Tami Farrell, Dallas and Toni Imbimbo from Amazing Race 13, and Jenn and Tyrie from the Real World Denver.
In addition, former Oakland A's player and 2009 Hall of Fame inductee Rickey Henderson will be signing autographs and taking photos for donations to JDRF. Limited autographs and photos are available for a minimum donation of $20 to JDRF.
Last year the Oakland Athletics raised over $30,000 for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. MUG Root Beer Float Day is presented by Pepsi. Ice Cream is donated by Dreyer's.
