With two celebratory showers in one game, Yolmer Sanchez had the best 24-hour stretch of all time
Have a day,
Thanks to some inclement weather in Chicago, the White Sox infielder had what I'll call the single-best baseball game of any player in history.
Who else has enjoyed two celebratory showers in the same game? If that doesn't make sense as you read it, I understand your confusion. Monday night's game was suspended in the fifth inning, and Sanchez -- who was on the bases when play was paused -- did this:
That was the fifth inning. Play was resumed on Tuesday before the regularly-scheduled Royals-White Sox game in the evening, and wouldn't you know it? Sanchez drove in the winning run in Chicago's 4-3 win.
Naturally, that led to another shower, this time of the yellow Gatorade variety courtesy of teammate
#SoxStats: Yolmer Sánchez is the first player in @MLB history to have a Gatorade shower in both the 5th and 9th inning of a regulation game, probably.

Have you had as great a 24-hour stretch as Yolmer? Probably not.
I haven't either. None of us have. Yolmer's in a class all his own.
Adrian Garro joined MLB.com in 2016. Throughout his travels, both Bartolo Colon and Vin Scully have placed their hands on his shoulders. Not at the same time, though. That'd be amazing.
