League Information:
Junior Braves Baseball, sponsored by Delta Air Lines, is a non-fee baseball program for at-risk youth at Boys & Girls Club sites across metro Atlanta. Along with teaching the fundamentals of baseball, the Junior Braves League will stress self-esteem, education, teamwork, and leadership among youth.
Counties Participating:
Coweta, Douglas, Cobb, Fulton, Rockdale, Gwinnett, Dekalb, and Paulding
Qualifications Required:
• Knowledge of youth baseball including rules and strategies
• Provide instruction and guidance to your team while emphasizing fair play and sportsmanship
• Ability to organize and administrate effective practices
• Ability to communicate effectively with participants, parents, and Boys & Girls Club staff
• Dependable, enthusiastic, patient, and organized
Volunteer Responsibilities:
• Work with club to develop youth for competition
• Coach youth participants ages 10-12, 13-15, or 16-18
• Plan and supervise games, practices, and events
• Meet with parents prior to start of season/encourage their involvement
• Provide a safe and fun environment at all times
Volunteer Time Commitment:
• Coaches should be available for 3 hrs a week for development/practice and 3 hrs on game days
• Practices are typically held twice a week for 1.5 hours per team's availability
• Games are scheduled on Tuesdays (ages 10-12), Wednesdays (ages 13-15) and Thursdays (ages 16-18) of each week

May 20 -- Preseason Coaches Orientation
June 5 -- Coordination of team and practices
June 7 -- League Kick-off Event
June 13 -- Opening Day Games
July 28 -- Last Day of Season
August 8 -- Junior Braves Day @ Turner Field
August 19 -- All Star Game @ Turner Field
