June 2: OF Brandon Marsh (right hamstring strain) exits early
Marsh was lifted for a pinch-runner in the bottom of the eighth inning in Sunday night's 5-4 loss to the Cardinals after sustaining a right hamstring strain while running the bases. He appeared to grimace a bit after rounding first on his leadoff single, but Marsh immediately called for the training staff one batter later when he came up limping as he attempted to round second on Nick Castellanos' ensuing single.
Manager Rob Thomson said after the game that the team won't know the extent of the injury until Marsh undergoes further examination on Monday. The outfielder wasn't available to the media as he was getting extended treatment.
June 2: INF Kody Clemens (back spasms) scratched
Originally in Sunday night's lineup at second base, Clemens was scratched approximately 90 minutes before first pitch due to back spasms. He was replaced by Whit Merrifield.
Manager Rob Thomson said Clemens' back locked up on his final swing of batting practice. He is day to day.
June 2: LHP Ranger Suárez (left hand contusion) improving
Suárez felt much better Sunday afternoon, one day after exiting Saturday night's 6-1 win over the Cardinals after being struck by a 106.1 mph line drive to end the top of the second inning. He was diagnosed with a left hand contusion. X-rays were negative.
"A lot better; swelling is down," manager Rob Thomson said. "We still don't know about his next start. He won't pick up a ball until maybe [Monday], probably [Tuesday]. But really, really encouraging."
While Suárez appears to have dodged a major injury, the club will evaluate him in the coming days before making a decision about his next start. Suárez would already be getting two extra days of rest ahead of his next start -- tentatively scheduled for Saturday in London -- but with the Phillies having three off-days over the next nine days, they could easily shuffle their rotation to get him even more time.
Spencer Turnbull, who pitched three hitless innings of relief on Saturday, would be available to fill in for Suárez if the Phillies determine he's unable to go in the next few days.
10-DAY/15-DAY INJURED LIST
SS Trea Turner (strained left hamstring)
Expected return: Mid-June at earliest
Turner experienced a minor setback in his recovery during the club's series in Colorado, when he felt some leg soreness following a high-intensity workout on May 25. Turner has resumed taking ground balls and did some "light jogging" prior to the club's May 31 game against the Cards at Citizens Bank Park, but manager Rob Thomson said there is no timetable for when Turner might start running the bases.
Turner still needs to ramp up his running program and go through baserunning and sliding drills before heading out on a rehab assignment, meaning he is unlikely to return until after the London Series.
Turner injured his hamstring while scoring from second base on a passed ball in the Phillies' May 3 game against the Giants. He said the following day that he expects to miss at least six weeks. (Last updated: May 31)
RHP Yunior Marte (right shoulder inflammation)

Marte made his second rehab appearance with Triple-A Lehigh Valley on May 28, throwing 26 pitches and allowing one run over one inning. It's unclear how many rehab appearances Marte will need before being ready to be activated off the injured list, but he'll likely make at least one more. (Last updated: May 31)
RHP Luis F. Ortiz (sprained left ankle)
Expected return: Late May
Ortiz restarted his throwing program on May 11 and was playing catch from 90 feet as of May 15. Though he is on the IL because of a sprained left ankle he suffered on March 30, he had started to work his way back from that injury before the Phillies recalled him from his rehab assignment because of inflammation in his right shoulder. Ortiz started to feel something in the shoulder following a couple of rehab appearances with Single-A Clearwater.

RHP Michael Rucker (right hand arterial vasospasm)

Rucker threw a bullpen session on May 14 and is expected to throw another on May 17. He last pitched on March 1. (Last updated: May 15)

RHP Dylan Covey (right shoulder strain)

Covey had started to play catch but he tweaked a hamstring while rehabbing. He is back in Clearwater, Fla., where he is shut down for the time being. Covey has not pitched since his final Grapefruit League appearance on March 1. He was transferred to the 60-day IL on June 1. (Last updated: June 1)
RHP Andrew Painter (Tommy John surgery; No. 1 on Phillies Top 30 Prospects list)
Expected return: 2025
Painter underwent Tommy John surgery in late July 2023, and he is not expected to pitch again until the 2025 season. The right-hander remains the No. 19 overall prospect -- and No. 4-ranked pitcher -- in baseball, per MLB Pipeline. Painter will still be just 21 years old on Opening Day next year.
