Gerrit Cole, DJ LeMahieu, Oswald Peraza and Tommy Kahnle, Yankees

Cole (right elbow discomfort) threw 29 pitches from a bullpen mound at Tropicana Field on Saturday, saying that his velocity sat around 89 mph. Cole is scheduled to have another mound session on Tuesday at the Yankees’ complex in Tampa, Fla. He said no date has been set to face hitters.

LeMahieu (right foot fracture) took live batting practice on Saturday, facing rehabbing right-hander JT Brubaker. Yankees manager Aaron Boone said that he “heard it went well.”

Peraza (right sub-scapular strain) had his rehab assignment transferred to Double-A Somerset on Friday. He is still expected to be several weeks away from being ready to play in Major League games.

Kahnle (right shoulder inflammation) began his Minor League rehab assignment on Thursday with Single-A Tampa. He is expected to need about five total rehab outings before he is ready to rejoin the Yankees, Boone said. More >

Kyle Schwarber, Phillies

Schwarber woke up Saturday morning still feeling stiffness in his lower back and was out of the lineup for the first time this season. Schwarber said he felt something while taking his final swing in the seventh inning in Friday night’s 8-2 victory over the Marlins. More >

Dansby Swanson and Jameson Taillon, Cubs

Swanson was placed on the 10-day injured list (retroactive to Wednesday) with a right knee sprain ahead of the Cubs' game against the Pirates on Friday. More >

Taillon was lined up to pitch in Friday's series opener against the Pirates, but his start was pushed back due to lower back stiffness. Taillon hopes to pitch on Sunday but he will know more about where he's at after throwing off a mound on Saturday. More >

Kodai Senga, Mets

Senga (right posterior shoulder capsule strain) threw a bullpen session Friday. Manager Carlos Mendoza said the right-hander is trying to get himself right mechanically, and that if Senga continues to feel better, he could throw another bullpen session, throw live batting practice or begin a rehab assignment. Masataka Yoshida, Brayan Bello and Garrett Whitlock, Red Sox

Yoshida (left thumb strain) will not have to undergo surgery after receiving a second and third opinion on his sprained left thumb this week. It is still expected to be several weeks at least until Yoshida returns to action.

Bello (right lat strain) is expected to be activated to pitch Sunday's series finale against the Nationals.

A day after Whitlock (left oblique strain) threw three innings of live batting practice at Fenway Park on Friday, the Red Sox cleared him to make a Minor League rehab start for Triple-A Worcester on Wednesday. More >

Alek Thomas and Eduardo Rodriguez, D-backs

Thomas (strained left hamstring) is currently waiting for a second and third opinion on the MRI he underwent Tuesday in Phoenix.

Rodriguez (left lat strain) has begun a throwing program. He had a recent MRI that showed very positive results, manager Torey Lovullo said Thursday. More >

George Springer and Kevin Kiermaier, Blue Jays

Springer and Kiermaier were feeling a bit better, but were both held out of the lineup for a second straight game on Saturday as they deal with a virus. More >

DL Hall, Brewers

Hall (left knee sprain) threw his third bullpen session on Friday. Assuming no setbacks, Hall is lined up to face hitters on Tuesday. More >

Matt McLain, Reds

Six weeks removed from left shoulder surgery, McLain was cleared to resume throwing and running. He might be able to start swinging a bat in an additional six weeks. More >

Musgrove played catch Friday for the first time since he was shut down last week due to elbow inflammation. More >

Josiah Gray, Nationals

Gray (right elbow/forearm flexor strain) threw 35 fastballs on Friday at Fenway Park. Manager Dave Martinez said 30 to 32 of the pitches were strikes. "He's doing well," Martinez said. More >

Bryan Woo and Matt Brash, Mariners

Woo, who opened the season on the 15-day injured list with right elbow inflammation, was activated Friday to start against the A's but had to exit his start after 62 pitches due to right forearm tightness. Manager Scott Servais said he expects Woo to make his next start. More >

José Urquidy, Chas McCormick and Cristian Javier, Astros

Urquidy (right forearm strain) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Sugar Land on Sunday. He's scheduled to throw four innings or 60-65 pitches, manager Joe Espada said Thursday.

Espada also said McCormick (right hamstring discomfort) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A this weekend.

Javier (right neck discomfort) is preparing to rejoin the rotation and make a start against the Tigers this weekend. More >

Bryant (lower back strain) joined his teammates for infield practice and ran in the outfield on Wednesday. He also hit in the batting cage. Manager Bud Black said Bryant "most likely" will need a Minor League rehab assignment.

Jones (lower back strain) did some light throwing in the outfield Thursday. The plan has been for him to ramp up baseball activities on Friday or Saturday. More >
