Blake Snell, Alex Cobb and Jung Hoo Lee, Giants

Manager Bob Melvin said Snell is on track to return to the Giants' rotation next week, possibly as soon as Wednesday at Pittsburgh. Snell has been out since April 19 due to a left adductor strain, but he's looked dominant in his two rehab starts, tossing nine hitless innings with 17 strikeouts in two appearances between Single-A San Jose and Triple-A Sacramento.

Cobb was progressing well in his rehab from offseason hip surgery, but he hit another setback when he felt mild shoulder irritation before throwing a bullpen session on April 16. Cobb attempted to resume throwing after that, but he was shut down again after continuing to experience soreness in his shoulder.

"There hasn’t been progress," Melvin said Saturday. "He’s still feeling it in his shoulder a little bit. We’re not really sure what’s causing it." More >

Lee will have season-ending surgery in the coming weeks to repair a torn shoulder labrum. He dislocated his shoulder after crashing into the center-field fence attempting to make a catch against the Reds on Sunday. More >

Kodai Senga, Tylor Megill and Brooks Raley, Mets

Senga, who had advanced to throwing live batting practice in late April before moving backward in his progression, seems to be making progress once again: he is scheduled to throw a bullpen session on Sunday, three days after his previous session.

Megill (right shoulder strain) is expected to return to the rotation Monday in Cleveland.

Raley was diagnosed with a strain of the ulnar collateral ligament in his left (throwing) elbow. He will rest for two weeks and restart a throwing program after that. If all goes well, he could conceivably return to the bullpen for the Mets this season. Otherwise, he may have to undergo Tommy John surgery. More >

Max Muncy, Dodgers

Muncy was placed on the 10-day injured list Friday with a right oblique strain. More >

Nico Hoerner and Dansby Swanson, Cubs

Hoerner was held out of the starting lineup on Saturday, marking his fifth straight game on the bench due to a left hamstring issue. The infielder went through drills before Saturday's game and remains in a day-to-day assessment mode.

Swanson (right knee sprain) went through a workout before Saturday's game and manager Craig Counsell said the shortstop is "heading in a good direction" for being activated in the near future (possibly as soon as Tuesday). More >

DJ LeMahieu and Gerrit Cole, Yankees

LeMahieu (non-displaced fracture of right foot) began a rehab assignment with Double-A Somerset on Friday, and he might be ready to return to the Yankees' lineup during their nine-game West Coast road trip from May 24-June 2 against the Padres, Angels and Giants, according to manager Aaron Boone.

Cole (right elbow discomfort) tossed two simulated innings in the Yankee Stadium bullpen on Saturday and said that all went well. Assuming Cole’s recovery is uneventful, his next step could be facing hitters in live batting practice, though he is still thought to be several weeks away from a return. More >

Taijuan Walker and Trea Turner, Phillies

Walker (left big toe contusion), who played catch prior to Saturday's game against the Nationals, has felt better each day since leaving Thursday's game after being struck by a comebacker. The club moved up his bullpen session to Sunday, which should give the Phillies a clearer idea of whether Walker will be ready to make his next start on Wednesday.

Turner (left hamstring strain) is set to take batting practice on Sunday. There is still no firm timetable for his return to the lineup, although the day after he was injured (May 4), Turner said he expected to miss about six weeks. More >

Joe Musgrove, Padres

Padres manager Mike Shildt said that Musgrove (right elbow inflammation), who came out of his throwing session Friday without an issue, will start on Sunday against the Braves. More >

Travis d'Arnaud, Austin Riley and Sean Murphy, Braves

d’Arnaud exited Friday night's game against the Padres because of the dizziness he felt after his mask was smashed by a foul ball in the fifth inning Friday night. The initial tests indicated he didn’t suffer a concussion, but the Braves held him out of the lineup Saturday. More >

An MRI on Riley's tight left side, which began bothering him during batting practice on Sunday, revealed only inflammation in the area. Riley remained out of the starting lineup Saturday, but he and the club are hopeful he can avoid the injured list.

Murphy (left oblique strain) is scheduled to begin a Minor League rehab assignment during the week of May 20. More >

Devin Williams, Brewers

It was just 25 tosses from about 60 feet, but Saturday's flat-ground throwing session marked a milestone for Williams, who has been sidelined since mid-March by stress fractures in his back. Williams still faces a long progression, however. He said the current timeline has him pitching in games by late July. More >

Luis Garcia, Chas McCormick and José Urquidy, Astros

Garcia threw 20 pitches in his latest bullpen session on Saturday as he continues to rehab from the Tommy John surgery he underwent in May 2023. The expectation is that he will be able to rejoin the Astros' rotation at some point in the middle of the season.

McCormick (right hamstring discomfort) went 1-for-4 with a single in his Minor League rehab start on Friday night for Double-A Corpus Christi.

Urquidy (right forearm strain) was scheduled to pitch four innings Saturday in a rehab game with Corpus Christi. More >

Garrett Whitlock and Triston Casas, Red Sox

Whitlock (left oblique strain) experienced elbow soreness on Thursday after pitching 4 2/3 innings in a rehab start with Triple-A Worcester on Wednesday. He will remain in Boston this weekend and will undergo tests on Monday, manager Alex Cora said. More >

Casas (torn cartilage, left ribcage) is confident he will be activated on June 21, the first day he's eligible to return from the 60-day IL. More >

Ke'Bryan Hayes, Pirates

Hayes (low back inflammation) is expected to resume baseball activities on Monday. More >

Evan Carter and Dane Dunning, Rangers

Carter (lower back stiffness) pinch-hit on Friday, making his first appearance since May 10. The outfielder remained out of the lineup for the eighth straight game Saturday with a lefty on the mound for the Angels, but he could be nearing his return.

Dunning (right rotator cuff strain) was scheduled to throw bullpen sessions on Friday and Saturday. If all goes well, Dunning will be ready to return to the starting rotation on the upcoming road trip. More >

Steven Kwan and Gavin Williams, Guardians

Kwan (left hamstring strain) took batting practice on the field before Friday's game against the Twins.

Williams (right elbow discomfort) said he didn't feel any lingering effects on Wednesday from his first bullpen session since his anti-inflammatory injection. The righty said he threw 50 pitches and was scheduled to throw his next bullpen on Friday. More >

Brandon Lowe, Ryan Pepiot and Jeffrey Springs, Rays

Lowe (right oblique strain) -- who was scheduled to continue his rehab assignment with Triple-A Durham on Saturday -- could be activated during the Rays' next homestand, which starts Monday.

Pepiot (lower left leg contusion) simulated three innings in a bullpen session at Rogers Centre ahead of Friday's series opener against the Blue Jays. He is eligible to return from the IL on Tuesday and may slide back into the rotation for the Rays' home series against the Red Sox.

Springs (Tommy John surgery) threw a two-inning live batting practice session Wednesday and will next pitch in a Rookie-level Florida Complex League game on Monday. More >

Tim Anderson and Edward Cabrera, Marlins

Anderson (lower back soreness) will play at Triple-A Jacksonville on Saturday and Sunday before the club reevaluates, manager Skip Schumaker said.

Cabrera (right shoulder impingement) threw a bullpen session Friday in Jupiter, Fla. More >

J.P. Crawford and Jorge Polanco, Mariners

Crawford (right oblique strain) was hit on the right hand during a rehab game with Triple-A Tacoma on Wednesday. Crawford stayed back in Seattle to receive treatment and did not join the team in Baltimore for Friday's series opener against the Orioles as initially planned. Despite the setback, the prognosis is better than what the Mariners initially feared, as Crawford appears to not have sustained a significant follow-up injury.

Polanco (right hamstring tightness) was out of the lineup Saturday for the fourth straight game, and the Mariners are considering a possible IL stint if he's not ready by the end of this weekend's series. More >

Yariel Rodríguez, Blue Jays

Rodríguez (thoracic spine inflammation) is scheduled to make a rehab start Tuesday for Triple-A Buffalo and will likely need one or two more following that. More >

Kris Bryant and Elias Díaz, Rockies

Bryant (low back strain) went 1-for-4 with a single in his first at-bat Friday in a rehab game for Triple-A Albuquerque.

Díaz (left hand soreness) left Tuesday's game in the third inning and was out Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, but manager Bud Black said he doesn't expect the problem to force Díaz to the injured list. More >
